Rebirth after silence

Rebirth after silence

“They severed
us from the world,
voices from our throats
and sight from our eyes,
left us in a night meant to erase.

But in that severed dark
blood refused to dry,
wounds refused to heal—
veins braided new paths through old scars,
roots stretched farther where no one could see—

Slowly, fiercely, together.
From the wounded soil it grew:
a green that refused to sleep,
a togetherness quietly reaching out,
a becoming that raised its own sky.

To every life stolen in the silence—
Know that you are not lost.
Your roots are still reaching,
Your light is still threading.
Iran is still growing.”
