About Me: Helen Arjmandi
Helen Arjmandi was born in 1979 in Quchan, northeast of Iran.
She showed talent in Persian calligraphy at age 13 when she was a mid-school student and later studied the art of calligraphy under supervision of masters Ali Akbar Rezvani and Safar Mirzazadeh. While completing her degree in management, Helen, gravitated toward Naghashi-Khat which is a delicate art of integrating miniature painting with calligraphy.
Helen’s works have received praise from the art community both in her hometown and in the state capital, Mashhad. Later she continued her studies in digital graphics and photography.
After migrating to the USA in 2014, Helen rediscovered the inspiring beauty of wood as a primary element or medium for her creations. Recent Helen’s artworks are often an exquisite integration of wood engraving and burning with miniature and calligraphy
